About USCC


The United States Cannabis Council (USCC) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to build a future of legal access to cannabis delivered through an equitable and values-driven industry by advancing cannabis legalization at the federal and state level, and promoting restorative justice for communities harmed by cannabis prohibition. The alliance aims to raise ethical standards within the industry; achieve restorative justice for communities that have been disproportionately impacted by misguided state and federal cannabis policies; and create a healthy, inclusive, and well-regulated cannabis industry with social, financial, and environmental benefits shared by all.


The Position 


Responsible for directing USCC in meeting or exceeding annual membership goals for all member types, and dues to yield revenue.  Deliver membership services to new and existing USCC members consistent with the strategic plan, budgetary goals and member needs.  The pace of the work is faster than average.  The ability to learn quickly and thoroughly while continually recognizing and adapting to changing conditions is critical.


Responsibilities & Duties

  • Grow all membership categories
  • Deliver membership services – be the concierge to members.
  • Develop and execute membership engagement and touch plans, materials and communications for membership development and meetings. 
  • Development of events, networking and other member benefits to maximize return on investment.  This would include marketing and communication strategies in coordination with other teams. 
  • Lead in the efforts to maximize membership satisfaction to ensure that USCC provides the highest quality of membership services, member retention and growth.
  • Communicate and collaborate with all departments on a regular basis.
  • Assist CEO as needed regarding membership activities and membership sales.
  • Manage all aspects of membership recruitment activities.
  • In coordination with the Government Relations, DEI and Communications teams, direct the overall delivery and quality of membership services to new and existing members consistent with the strategic plan, budgetary goals and member needs. 
  • Plan periodic onsite visits with members and prospective members.
  • Respond to inquiries for information regarding membership, manage the sending out of membership information to interested parties, including membership packets to new or potential members, and specific information requests to current members or alliance partners.
  • Manage CRM software and data input


Qualifications & Standards

  • Education level:  Bachelors Degree 
  • Experience:  Sales, customer service, membership retention, recruitment and consistently high satisfaction.  Association membership work a plus.
